DAY 2 OF 9

Confidence — Why Does It Matter If God Is Still on His Throne?

Confidence doesn’t come from pretending everything’s okay. It comes from knowing that even when everything’s not, God still is.

When life feels unstable, when the world feels divided, when your plans fall apart—your confidence has to be anchored in something stronger than circumstances. The good news is: it can be.

The Bible doesn’t say you won’t face pressure or uncertainty. It says you don’t have to be shaken by it. Why? Because God is still on His throne.

Psalm 103:19 says, “The Lord has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all.” That means nothing catches Him off guard. He’s not pacing heaven, wondering what to do next. He’s reigning with authority, wisdom, and purpose.

When you understand that, your confidence shifts. You stop looking for peace in control or success. You start trusting the One who holds it all together.

Confidence isn’t arrogance—it’s assurance. It’s not believing in yourself more; it’s believing in God more. It’s knowing that no matter what happens around you, the throne in heaven is not empty.

The early church understood this kind of confidence. They faced persecution, hardship, and loss, yet they lived with unshakable peace. Their strength didn’t come from their circumstances; it came from their King.

Confidence grows when you remember who God is.
He’s faithful when others aren’t.
He’s consistent when everything changes.
He’s powerful when you feel weak.

When anxiety tries to take over, remind yourself: the same God who spoke creation into existence is the same God who speaks peace into your life. When fear rises, remind yourself: His authority has never been challenged. When you feel overwhelmed, remind yourself: His throne has never moved.

That truth changes how you respond to everything else. You can pray with faith because your prayers reach a powerful King. You can rest because you know the One who’s in charge never sleeps. You can lead with peace because your confidence isn’t in outcomes—it’s in Him.

Isaiah 26:3 says, “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”

That’s the promise of confidence rooted in God’s rule. When your mind stays fixed on who He is, your heart stays steady no matter what comes.

The world tells you to build confidence by looking inward. God tells you to build it by looking upward. Because when you remember He’s still on the throne, you stop living like everything depends on you.

Confidence isn’t pretending the storm doesn’t exist—it’s knowing who calms it. It’s standing firm, not because the ground is stable, but because the One holding you is.

You can live unshakable when your confidence comes from an unshakable God.
