Lighting Up Everyone

DAY 5 OF 5

A Light for All

A believer's shine doesn't come from within themselves; that's impossible. Our shine comes from the light of Christ that is in us. How aware we must be of our calling to be a light! If you're wondering what God's calling is for your life, you should know that this calling is explicitly stated in His Word for all who are called by His name.

"In the same way, let your light shine before others." Do you think those around you are benefiting from your light? John burned and gave light. The world's darkness was canceled out by his life and his ministry. The Lord Jesus gave a testimony of his light. Will the Lord give that same testimony about us? Are we fulfilling His call to be a light for the world? Can those who come into contact with us see His light?

For that to happen in our lives, it's important to have oil in our lamps, meaning the anointing of God's Holy Spirit in us. There is no other way. “Always be clothed in white, and always anoint your head with oil.” Ecl. 9:8 (NIV) There are no other elements that give us the ability to shine. For us to burn, the fire of the Spirit must be in us. That's why Paul told Timothy: “For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.” 2 Tim. 1:6 (NIV) And he told the Thessalonians: "Do not quench the Spirit.” 1 Thes. 5:19 (NIV)

How important it is for the Spirit of God to fill every part of our being! Our Father wants us to obey and revere Him, to depend on Him, and to be sensitive to His voice and guidance. In that way, filled with the oil of the Spirit, we will be lamps that burn and give light for the blessing of those around us and for the glory of God.

Christ in us is light. Do we let others see Him? His Word in us is light. Are we guided by it? “For this command is a lamp, this teaching is a light, and correction and instruction are the way to life.” Prov. 6:23 (NIV) Does the world around us see the light that is in us? "The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned." Is. 9:2 (NIV)

The truth is that the light of Christ lives in every believer, and God's calling is for us to illuminate this world, to speak His truth, and to live according to that truth. If that means brokenness, humility, obedience, and holiness, then it's necessary for our own self to be broken so that the light of Christ can shine intensely through us. The world urgently needs it.

About this Plan

Lighting Up Everyone

As Christians, we have a divine calling from God to be a light in the darkness of this world. It’s a huge responsibility and the most important of our missions. So, how do we do it? How can we be a light for this world—a light that can guide and illuminate so that those who don't know God can turn their eyes to Him? This plan will help us answer these questions with the help of God’s Word.
