DAY 20 OF 21

Let's Be Real

In a Few Words:

You don’t have to tell everyone your personal business or every mistake you’ve made. But it is important to have a friend—or a few friends—who are real followers of Jesus. These are people you can talk to about what you’re struggling with.

Be that kind of friend who listens, encourages, and points your friends back to God. When you open up, pray together, and check on each other, it helps you both grow stronger.

Most importantly, pray for one another, because there’s power and healing when you do.

There’s freedom when you confess what’s really going on, when you stop pretending everything’s perfect, and when you let God help you heal. We all have weak areas, but we don’t have to fight through them alone.

Reflection:

Why do you think God wants us to confess and pray for each other instead of trying to handle everything alone?

Challenge:

If you don’t already have a friend who will always lead you toward Christ, I challenge you to find one—or be that kind of friend for someone else.

  • Be real, be trustworthy, listen, and pray with them.
  • And remember—pray, don’t gossip.

What you talk about in prayer can bring real change.
