OVERLOOKED -

Picture this: A young woman sits at the dinner table with her beloved husband. Tinkling chatter and giggles fill the room as she gazes at the little versions of her husband across the table. One toddler can barely hold his spoon while another quickly gorges himself in preparation for another session of play. She smiles as the youngest holds up her hand towards her mother’s face, adding smudges of porridge to her beaming cheeks. She’s not bothered by the mess, but instead she mirrors the same glee and wonder of her daughter. She glances at her husband, who stares proudly at his offspring, a wide grin strapped to his face. It is a beautiful picture of a family living in the purpose of a God who desired that they be fruitful and multiply. Alas, there remains one problem: her eyes fall to her belly as her fingers stretch across it. A sharp pain pierces her heart. Again, she looks at the picture in front of her, the little versions of her husband who belong not to her, but to his other wife... But the LORD remembers her...
