DAY 20 OF 26

DAY 20: JESUS — THE HIGH PRIEST

Study Scriptures:

Hebrews 4:14,16 (NKJV)

“Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession...Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

Hebrews 7:25 (NLT)

“Therefore He is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through Him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.”

Romans 8:34 (NKJV)

“Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.”

Jesus, our High Priest, intercedes for you continuously.

Hebrews 7:25 tells us that Jesus “always lives to intercede” for us. Unlike earthly priests who needed to offer sacrifices repeatedly, Jesus entered the heavenly sanctuary once for all, and He remains there, speaking on our behalf.

When fear, doubt, or condemnation rises, His presence pleads mercy on your behalf.

Fear 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us God gave us a spirit of power, love, and self‑discipline, not fear. Jesus’ intercession brings the Father’s peace that quiets trembling hearts.

DoubtIn John 14:16‑17, Jesus promises the Holy Spirit as another Helper, sent by the Father because of His prayer. The Spirit confirms truth, dispelling uncertainty.

CondemnationRomans 8:34 asks, “Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died more than that, who was raised to life is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.” His ongoing prayer nullifies any accusation.

You don’t stand alone; He represents you before God, ensuring grace and favor in every situation.

Because of His finished work, we have access to the Father’s throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). His advocacy guarantees that, no matter the circumstance trials, decisions, battles—divine grace is released to meet our need.

How to rest in His intercession

1. Pray confidently – Knowing He’s already praying for you; approach the Father with boldness, not doubt.

2. Listen for the Spirit’s promptings – Often the Spirit nudges you to pray for a specific person or situation; that’s Jesus’ intercession working through you.

3. Declare Scripture – When fear or condemnation attacks, quote a promise (e.g., Rom 8:1, “No condemnation”) as a reminder of His advocacy.

4. Thank Him – Gratitude acknowledges His ongoing priestly work: “Thank You, Jesus, for standing in the gap for me.”

Jesus, our eternal High Priest, never stops praying for us. When fear, doubt, or condemnation arise, His intercession secures mercy, grace, and favor from the Father. You’re never alone; He continuously represents you, ensuring you walk in divine favor every step of the way.

The Holy Spirit highlights Jesus’ intercession daily, reminding you that your access to God is secure. This empowers you to pray boldly, receive forgiveness, and approach every circumstance with confidence and peace.

CONFESSION

Jesus is my High Priest. He intercedes for me daily, granting me mercy, grace, and confidence to live victoriously.

PRAYER CONFESSION

Lord, thank You for interceding on my behalf. Holy Spirit, remind me of Jesus’ constant presence, guiding and empowering my prayers. May I approach You boldly, receiving mercy and grace in every circumstance. Amen.
