Transformation Truths

DAY 1 OF 3

We Need To Talk

Scripture focus:

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Romans 12:2, NKJV

Devotional:

Can you relate? You arrive at work on Monday when the boss stops you, says he needs to speak, and asks you to come to his office at 1:00 pm. Or when your spouse, teenager, or adult kid texts, “We need to talk.” What's your reaction? Fear, apprehension, anxiety? Do you immediately replay your decisions to see if you've done wrong and quickly think the worst: am I getting fired, chastised, or punished? This response is based on a fleshly, soul-based perspective shaped by worldly influences.

Is your reaction one of curiosity and excitement to work with your boss, spouse, or kid to improve something, knowing you're collaborating on a shared purpose? This shows a strong relationship based on love, trust, and respect. You can enter the meeting without anxiety, confident that the goal is to encourage, not condemn. Transforming fear and anxiety into curiosity and excitement—whether with your boss, spouse, kid, anyone, or with God—is key to strong relationships.

Having accepted Jesus, you are now guided by the Holy Spirit, being transformed into a new person, in the image of God. Identify obstacles like fear, anger, or insecurity that cause anxiety with others. Removing these barriers helps shift from a soul-based to a God-based life, fostering honest relationships built on love, trust, and respect, which reduce reactions like fear, anxiety, and depression.

Prayer:

Abba Father, I come to You today seeking a closer relationship with You and others. Please show me, through the Holy Spirit, any obstacles I might have that prevent these relationships from being as strong as they can be. Amen.

Call to Action:

Always remember: [Insert your name] is a beloved child of God!

Ask the Holy Spirit for guidance. Now, be still and listen. Write down what He tells you.
