Wait Well: Trusting God's Timing

DAY 1 OF 5

When Waiting Feels Hard

Waiting is one of the most misunderstood seasons in the Christian life. We often imagine waiting as stillness, doing nothing while time passes. But biblical waiting is active. It is the posture of a heart that chooses trust even when clarity is delayed.

Some days, waiting feels heavy. You pray, believe, obey and yet, nothing seems to move. It’s easy in those moments to feel forgotten, overlooked, or delayed. But Scripture reminds us that God’s promises are not cancelled by time. They are appointed; that vision, desire, goal, etc., is for an appointed time. You're on a journey curated by God specially for you.

Habakkuk tells us the vision will surely come. It may seem slow, but it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait. That means waiting is not evidence of absence or proof of denial, it is rather evidence of the process God is taking you through. Through your journeys, you'll always see God's hand moving the pieces of your life. God works in layers, often beneath the surface, long before anything becomes visible, a lot of work has been done underground.

Waiting becomes hard when we measure God’s faithfulness by speed instead of truth. But God is not rushed, and He is never careless or hasty. He knows exactly what He is doing with your life and He can't be bullied into conforming to your timeline.

Today, release the pressure to figure everything out. Waiting well begins with absolute surrender, choosing to believe that God’s timing is not late, even when it feels uncomfortable.

Prayer

Father, waiting feels hard sometimes. I confess my frustration, my questions, and my weariness. Help me to trust You even when I don’t understand what You’re doing. Strengthen my heart and teach me to wait with faith, in Jesus’ name, amen.
