Your Christian Strategy

If you’ve ever been involved in sports, an initiative, or a project, you know how important it is to have a strategy. Politicians running for office have a strategy for winning votes. Athletes and coaches have a strategy for winning games.

The best strategies are very clear. They state what needs to be done, why it needs to be done, and how to do it. Paul gives Christians a strategy to follow in order to live out the gospel in 1 Corinthians 9:22-23 when he writes, “I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. Now this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I may be partaker of it with you.”

What is to be done? Men and women must be saved. Why is it to be done? For the sake of the gospel in order that people may know that God loves them. How is it to be done? By joining other believers in an all-out effort to show godly love, relationship and discipleship to others in your communities, effectively demonstrating Christ’s love for them.

The strategy Scripture lays out for you is simply this: Partner with other Christians in the task of loving the lost so that, through you, they may experience the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Prayer for the day:

Today, ask God to help you follow the strategy laid out in 1 Corinthians 9:22-23. Pray that you will play your part in the ministry of the gospel, and that people will come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior through your love and relationship.
