THE “Nevertheless” POINTSample

The Power of “Nevertheless”
Luke 5:5b (KJV)
“…nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.”
The turning point in Simon’s story was one word: nevertheless. It was the bridge between human limitation and divine intervention. “Nevertheless” does not ignore reality; it chooses obedience over logic and trust over fear.
To say “nevertheless” is to declare: Lord, this is what I see—but I trust what You have said more. It is a conscious decision to step out of familiar disappointment and plunge into God’s Word.
When we refuse to let go of our reality, we miss the net-breaking experience God has prepared. Obedience, even when it feels unreasonable, positions us for supernatural outcomes.
Reflection Questions:
- What would it look like for me to say “nevertheless at Your word” in my current situation?
- Is there an instruction from God I’ve delayed because it didn’t make sense?
- What fears or doubts are holding me back from deeper obedience?
