Good Soil, Different YieldsSample

THE THORNS: COMPETING LOVES
The thorny soil hears the Word, believes it, and even begins to grow, but competing desires choke it. Worries, wealth, ambition, and distractions slowly suffocate spiritual life.
This is perhaps the most common challenge for modern Christians. Faith is present, but not prioritised. God is loved, but not first. The danger of thorns is not immediate failure, but gradual compromise.
Jesus reminds us that divided attention leads to diminished fruit. Growth requires intentional space for God to breathe.
Reflection:
- What competes most for your attention and affection?
- Is there something God is asking you to surrender or reorder?
Prayer:
Lord, show me what is choking my growth. Help me choose You over competing distractions. Amen.

About this Plan

This 7-day study explores the Parable of the Sower, showing how the same seed produces different results based on the condition of the soil. Through the imagery of hard paths, rocky ground, thorny places, and good soil, it examines real challenges in following Christ today: distractions, shallow faith, competing priorities, and the slow work of spiritual growth. Designed for both new and mature believers. Good Soil, Different Yields reframes Jesus’ teaching on thirty, sixty, and a hundred fold harvests, reminding us that God values faithfulness over comparison and inviting hearts toward steady, contented growth
