Proverbs on Fools

DAY 15 OF 17

You are a fool if people cannot answer you, because if they do, they will look as foolish as you just by speaking (Proverbs 26:4).

You are a fool if people have to answer you wittily so that they can put an end to your foolishness (Proverbs 26:5).

You are a fool if you cannot be trusted as a messenger of news; the people who sent you would rather cut off their own feet or look for violent people to beat them up, rather than trust you again (Proverbs 26:6).

You are a fool if you utter proverbs yet do not apply them to your life; proverbs in your mouth are as useless as the limp legs of a lame man (Proverbs 26:7).

You are a fool if the honour you are given will only result in you hurting people; you don’t deserve that honour; in fact, giving you honour is like arming a slingshot with a stone — the only result is people getting hurt (Proverbs 26:8).

You are a fool if you speak proverbs that you do not apply; proverbs in your mouth are as useless and harmful as thorns in the hands of a drunkard (Proverbs 26:9).
