This Is WhySample

Have you ever had to do something really scary or challenging? Maybe an intimidating interview for a new job, or dropping off your kid on the first day of kindergarten, or following up on that doctor’s appointment with the potential of a scary diagnosis, or even just showing up to church for the first time. Whatever it was for you, chances are you didn’t go into the moment blind or unprepared. You likely did all kinds of things to make sure you felt as secure and prepared for the situation as possible.
One of those things you likely did was call for help! Whether it was a quick text asking for prayer, a phone call with a loved one to encourage you, or the physical presence of friends and loved ones with you, you called in the support of people around you to help you handle it. Why? Because some things are just easier done with someone by your side. Here, evangelism is that thing Jesus is talking about. He calls us to share His message with the world, but He knew it would probably be scary or intimidating in some ways. That’s why He graciously and lovingly reminded us that we aren’t in it alone; He’s with us. Not just now but always, to the very end of the age. When we’re sharing His message, we’re never doing it alone.
Take time this week to memorize this verse. Let it serve as a mental reminder that, when you’re sharing your faith, you’re never doing it alone.

About this Plan

We’ve all had those experiences that are so real and impactful to us that we want other people to know about them, too. More than just telling the people in our lives about it, we want them to feel it, to get it, to care about it, and even experience it the way we do. And for followers of Jesus, our faith is a message of hope we simply can’t keep to ourselves. In this devotional, we’re going to look at what it means to share the gospel of Jesus with the world around us.
