TRUE REST

DAY 1 OF 3

The Invitation

There is something remarkable about who Jesus addressed when He said, "Come to Me." He did not call the prepared or the put-together. He did not summon those who had already found their footing. He called the weary, the ones whose strength had given out, and the heavy laden, the ones bent low under loads they were never designed to carry. The invitation was not reserved for those who had earned a hearing. It was extended precisely to those who had nothing left.
We tend to feel that we must arrive at Jesus in a decent condition. We clean ourselves up before we pray, we try to settle our guilt before we open our Bibles, and we tell ourselves we will draw near once things have improved. But Jesus said, Come now. Come as you are. The weariness is not a disqualification. It is the very condition He addressed.
Notice that He did not say, "I will show you where to find rest." He said, "I will give you rest." The rest is not a technique or a schedule or a spiritual discipline, though those things have their place. The rest is a Person. It flows from being in relationship with Christ Himself, from bringing the weight of our lives into the presence of One who is infinitely strong, infinitely gentle, and completely acquainted with our grief.
That is where the invitation begins: not with our readiness, but with His. He is already waiting. The question is simply whether we will come.

REFLECT
What load have you been carrying that you have not yet brought to Jesus?
In what way have you been trying to "clean up" before approaching Him? What would it look like to simply come as you are?
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to You weary and without pretence. I bring what I have been carrying, and I lay it before You now. Teach me what it means to truly receive the rest You offer. Amen.

About this Plan

TRUE REST

You were not made to run on empty. Yet so many of us do, pushing through exhaustion, carrying weights we were never meant to bear alone, wondering why we feel so far from God even when we are trying so hard. Jesus knew what weariness truly was. He looked at people bent low under impossible loads and said, Come to Me. Not later. Not once you have recovered. Now. This three-day plan explores what true rest really is, where it comes from, and how to live in it every day.
