United in Christ - connecting in a hope-filled community
Even though we’re more connected today through social media, many people still feel alone. It’s easy to have people around us in our lives, but to still feel lonely. According to the World Health Organisation, 100 people die of loneliness-related causes each hour. That’s a shocking statistic. So, how can we, as a community, offer hope? The antidote to loneliness is connection – with God and others. We have the incredible blessing of being united with Christ, who helps us with tenderness and compassion in our need. In Philippians 2, Paul exhorts us to go and do the same for others.
One thing I love most about our station is the enthusiasm we see all the time from our wonderful community to connect with others. Have a listen during the next appeal and you’ll hear people giving to support the station because they’re keen to be part of this community loving each other. You’ll hear others sharing how God ministered to them through the station in a time of need – our community providing hope when they needed it. On station Open Days or at station events, we’ve seen people connecting together – what a great opportunity to show love to one another. Friends, we are that community that can share hope with others. Not just on the radio, but beyond that, as we intentionally connect with each other and with people in our everyday lives. We have so much in common in Christ, and so much hope to offer the world. Let’s keep doing that together!
