Starting with the Heart
Many people don’t realize it, but money is deeply emotional and spiritual. It is not just a resource, it carries decisions, fears, expectations, and even the way we see God, ourselves, and the future.
It is common for someone to begin a journey with God, experience faith and transformation in many areas… yet continue handling money the same way as before: with anxiety, disorganization, or even avoidance. As if this area were separate from God’s work.
But God does not want to touch only part of life. He desires to govern everything, including how we think, feel, and manage our resources.
Over more than 20 years in the financial market, working with hundreds of families, one pattern became clear: the greatest financial challenges do not begin with a lack of money, but within. Unresolved emotions and silent beliefs end up shaping decisions.
Jesus taught that where our treasure is, there our heart will be also. This reveals that money points to what occupies space within us.
In the Bible, we see the story of a widow who had very little. God did not begin by giving her more resources, but by working on her trust. Before provision came, there was an internal alignment.
Behavioral science confirms this: many financial decisions are emotional. The brain seeks relief from tension, which can lead to impulsive actions or avoidance of responsibility.
God desires to care for your heart. When you find security in Him, your decisions begin to change with clarity.
Today, start from within. Allow God to also touch your financial life.
Prayer:
Lord, today I recognize that You are part of every area of my life, including my finances. I surrender my worries, my fears, and everything I have been carrying in silence. Heal my heart from all anxiety and insecurity. Teach me to trust You as my true source.
Today, I declare that my heart is aligned with God.
My security is not in money, but in who God is.
I choose to trust, to rest, and to make decisions based on this truth.
