“For You, God, tested us; You refined us like silver.”
God values development more than display. He works deeply before He works publicly. Refinement is God’s process of removing impurities that weaken strength and integrity. Without refinement, exposure becomes dangerous.
Scripture repeatedly shows that preparation precedes promotion. Moses spent years in obscurity before leadership (Exodus 3). David was shaped in solitude before kingship (1 Samuel 16–2 Samuel 5). Development protects destiny.
Refinement often feels uncomfortable because it confronts weakness. But Proverbs 17:3 reminds us that “the Lord tests the heart.” God shapes motives, attitudes, and values so that when responsibility increases, character sustains it.
When God develops you privately, public fruit lasts longer.
