Shift Your Life

DAY 1 OF 5

SEIZE YOUR MOMENT

Before you were born, God prepared specific moments for your life. These are not accidents or coincidences. They are your assignments: moments crafted to bring heaven to earth through your obedience.

When life’s difficulties throw us off balance, it’s easy to think we missed our assignment or that our assignment doesn’t apply anymore. But that’s not true. God knows all things, and though we’re surprised by the challenges we meet, God is not.

We see this in the book of Esther.

Esther was a young Jewish woman who was elevated to the position of queen of Persia. She found herself uniquely positioned to impact the future of her people. She had a choice: Would she shy away from the challenge and stay silent and safe, or would she seize the opportunity, speak up, and risk everything?

Mordecai, her cousin and guardian, gave her this unforgettable charge: “If you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place. … And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14, NIV).

Esther was afraid at first, but the secret to her miraculous outcome was her willingness to hear the words of her cousin, sense the weight of the moment, and go forward with courage. Your willingness to go where God says to go and to do what He says to do is the key to seizing your moment.

Ephesians 5:16 gives us an action plan: “Make the most of every opportunity” (NIV). Not just the convenient or easy ones, but every single opportunity.

Seizing the moment unlocks its power. One decision can shift the course of your life—or a nation. When Esther responded, the fate of the Jewish people turned. When Jesus entered the fullness of time, salvation came to all. When you respond, heaven moves.

Lord, help me not to miss my moment. Give me spiritual eyes to see what You’re doing and a heart willing to respond. Like Esther, I pray for boldness and courage to rise to the occasion and say yes to such a time as this. Amen.
