Spiritual Gifts on Assignment

Being appointed doesn't really come with your assignment orders on paper to carry out. It comes with a divine spiritual gifting that only God Himself can instill within you. Remember that He doesn't call the people who are already equipped...he equips the called. So many times, He uses the "highly unlikely," the ones who, from their peers, might have gotten the "Most Likely Not To Measure Up" award in high school.

God has always had in mind exactly what He wants for your life, from before you were even conceived. (Jer 29:11, 2 Tim 1:9) He knows what you are fully capable of, even when you don't feel adequate, prepared, ready, or able. He sees the bigger picture and knows exactly where you fit into it, so His glory can be revealed. God has a predetermined time for your calling to happen as well. Most of the time, however, there is a refining to be done for you to be in the space that makes you more acquainted with those whom you will serve. It may take a while...be ready to wait. There may be some "fires" to go through first. Some hardships. Some trials. Some suffering. Some testing moments. Some crushing. Some grieving. Some pruning. Some mending. Some healing. Fruit-bearing comes after these things, and God's marvelous glory is revealed. (Rom. 8:18)

God can't use the spiritual gifts He blesses us with unless we first submit to His will, way, and purpose. Full surrender must come into play for His willingness to anoint you beyond what you are capable of. There's quite a bit of "death" that needs to transpire within us, for the Master Refiner to make us shine! It generally takes walking through those moments of some or all of those fires I just mentioned, to be fully prepared for what He has in store that will blow your mind! (2 Cor 4:1-18)

You may end up with one strong spiritual gift; you may have a few...regardless, they are yours for the taking if you will only let God work his circumcision in your heart, mind, and soul. Take some time to study those areas mentioned in the graphic above of spiritual gifts within the Bible, and ask God to reveal to you YOUR giftings from Him, and let Him have His way in your life. The appointing will then have anointing!
