Gracegivers

DAY 5 OF 5

"And when He saw their faith, He said, 'Man, your sins are forgiven you.'"

Surely, facing a scene like that, many would have expected an instant healing, a dramatic gesture on Jesus' part.

Instead, Jesus catches everyone by surprise by exclaiming a phrase that many did not expect: "Your sins are forgiven you!"

Oh yes, it is worth repeating once again: the greatest miracle a person can ever experience is salvation in Christ Jesus, which is obtained by believing in His sacrifice and His resurrection!

There is no greater miracle than this!

And yet, there was a young man who had a serious health problem, but Jesus begins by performing the most important miracle: the forgiveness of sins.

Regardless of the physical conditions a person might face, sin is, and always will be, the most fatal disease on earth. This is because sin has eternal consequences.

Before our physical health condition, it is vital to take care of our spiritual one, and we can only do so by allowing the precious blood of Jesus to wash away our sins.

I too made this prayer one day: "Lord, have mercy on me!" Even though I had always been a good guy, raised with sound moral and spiritual teachings, all of that was not enough. In the presence of God, I recognized myself for what I truly was: a sinner.

To many, this may seem exaggerated, especially when standing before a person with a disability or an illness.

We tend more and more to give importance to the physical aspect rather than the spiritual one. But everyone—and I mean everyone—needs the blood of Jesus to purify our sins.

I do not know your situation, but I say this with all possible respect and love: regardless of your physical condition, you need Jesus!!!

I often find myself talking and sharing with many parents who, like me, have children with disabilities, and believe me, it is not easy at all to talk about Jesus. This is because when people go through a great hardship, the first thing many do is blame God for everything that happened. And so, many people completely close themselves off toward God and everything related to faith.

They put the problem ahead of everything else as an absolute priority, and I often hear phrases like: "If God heals him, then maybe we can talk about it!"

Let it be clear: God still performs miracles and wonders today!!! But I cannot help but think of those ten lepers healed by Jesus; only one turned back to Jesus to thank Him and glorify Him, only to hear the words:"Go, your faith has saved you."

Then Jesus asked:"Where are the other nine?"

My prayer is that many who are living through a hardship, regardless of their problem, may experience a true salvation of their soul.

I realize that this does not depend on me: it is a supernatural work that only God can do. What I can do, just as those four guys did, is simply bring people to Jesus—do everything possible to bring them before Him, and then the rest will follow.

Jesus knows the needs of each one of us perfectly well, and He knows how to work. Perhaps for someone, healing will come first and then salvation; for someone else, salvation first and then healing. It is certainly not up to us to question His will.

Let us strive every day to be GRACEGIVERS. Let us allow the grace of God to help us bring people to Him in a practical and bold way.

May this Grace be contagious, and may we collaborate with others to bring people before Jesus, always keeping in mind the ultimate goal of our faith: the salvation of souls!

God bless you.
