Jesus, I Need You Part 8Sample
QUIET MOMENT
On the road to Damascus to persecute Christians, Paul sees the light. According to verse 15 why did Jesus appear to Paul? The Lord allows us to see the light, so that we might become light to others. Where have you been sent? Are you going? Are you walking in obedience to be a light?
GOING DEEPER
Read John 9. Keep in mind the concept of Jesus being the light that gives us sight. Observe what is said by all of the cast, including the blind man and his parents. There is a reason Jesus healed this man’s eyes. How does this miracle relate to His statement, “I am the light of the world” (John 9:5)?
Jesus is the light, and He wants us to have light and be light in Him. What do the following verses say about light?
John 8:12
Matthew 5:14-16
1 John 2:9-10
Although a lovely art plaque with a Scripture written in calligraphy might be nice on a wall, God’s words are meant to be brought to life. They are meant to be written on our hearts and displayed in our deeds. How can you let your light shine more brightly? What one thing do you think would impact your light the most powerfully? What an honor and privilege to be called the light of the world by the light of the world. Take a minute to thank Him for this overwhelming privilege.
REFLECTION AND PRAYER
Is your light as bright as it could be? Or do you tend to blend in with the rest of the world? Ask the Lord to help you see the dim areas in your life.
TAKE THE TRUTH TO HEART AND BRING THE TRUTH TO LIFE
Choose one truth from today and apply it to your heart. Take it with you throughout the day.
