Kindness Changes EverythingSample
Be kind to your enemies.
“It’s impossible to agree on everything. But just because disagreements arise – and some people don’t like you – doesn’t mean that you’re to be unkind or contentious.” - Your Next 24 Hours
We’ve all been hurt by someone we once trusted. During his last days, even Jesus was betrayed by a close ally. But, what if we start demonstrating kindness to those who are against us? Though you can’t protect yourself from getting hurt, you can control your response.
The law given to the Israelites through Moses instructed them to repay “an eye for an eye.” But, when Jesus came, he fulfilled the law and commanded his followers to be kind to their enemies.
Demonstrating kindness to our adversaries reminds us of our Heavenly Father’s kindness. We deserve death and separation from God, but He offers us eternal life through Jesus. Our Savior sacrificed himself for all humanity, providing a way for enemies to become allies.
Remember: “With a little good fortune and a dose of understanding, your enemy could one day become your most-trusted ally.” - Your Next 24 Hours
