Sometimes we can be guilty of thinking that our time of worship with God is the first 20 minutes of the church service, where we sing 4 songs, clap our hands, and hear an awesome (or not awesome) band play music. At the end of this time, we typically sit in our seats, listen to a sermon, say hello to a few friends, and head home until next week.

I don’t think this was ever God’s intention for worship, to be contained within a schedule, within a building, or within ONE DAY OF THE WEEK! Did you know God loves when you sing to Him? You may be worse than some of the worst American Idol auditions, but God thinks you’re the best when you sing! It doesn’t even have to be singing, God just loves to hear you talk about Him. He is so overjoyed when we express our love for Him, and the best part is, as we express our love for Him, He begins working in us!

Something very powerful happens when we worship God. We give Him praise for who He is, and He begins to work in the situations of our lives that need it most. I don’t know what it is that happens, but for some reason, when we worship, our perspective begins to be lifted.

I challenge you in this very moment, sing a song of praise to God. Thank Him for what He’s done, and ask Him to do more! He is worthy of being the song that we are singing today.
