MEETING JESUS

Imagine it is the middle of the day. The sun is very hot and you have been walking all morning. You sit down to rest. What would you like most of all?

Jesus was resting by a well when someone came.

Read John, chapter 4, verses 6 to 8. What did Jesus ask the woman?

Here’s what happened next. The woman said, “Sir, I’m surprised you’re asking a foreigner like me for a drink.”

Jesus talked to the woman about God and about herself.

The woman was surprised at what Jesus knew. She said, “Sir! You know all about me! You must be a prophet. I know that one day God will send a very special person to us!”

Jesus told her: “That’s me. I’m talking to you now.” Jesus was saying that HE was the very special person, sent by God. 

What would you have done?

What do you think the Samaritan woman will do?

Read verses 28 to 30.

The woman told everyone she met, “Come with me! Come and see! Come and meet a man who is special!”

Everyone in town went out to see Jesus. What did they say? 

Repeat their words aloud: “We are certain that he is the Saviour of the world.”

Have you ever told anyone about Jesus? Many people still don’t know how special he is. 

Pray: Thank God that every day more people hear about Jesus. Ask God to help you tell your friends about him.
