聖馬太福音書 2:1-2

பரிசுத்த வேதாகமம் ஒரு மத புத்தகம் அல்ல. அது தேவனுடைய வார்த்தை. வேதாகமத்தில், ஆசீர்வாதம் மற்றும் சாபங்கள் என இரண்டு முக்கியமான சக்திகளைக் குறித்து நீங்கள் நிறைய பார்க்கலாம். இதில், ஆசீர்வாதம் முற்போக்கான சக்தியாகவும், சாபங்கள் பிற்போக்கான சக்தியாகவும் இருக்கிறது. இந்த இரண்டு சக்திகளும் நம்முடைய வாழ்க்கையில் மிகப்பெரிய மாற்றத்தை ஏற்படுத்தக்கூடிய அளவுக்கு மிகவும் வல்லமையானவை என்று வேதம் போதிக்கிறது. வாழ்க்கையில் ஆசீர்வாதம் வேண்டும் என்று எல்லோரும் விரும்பினாலும், சாபம் போன்ற சூழ்நிலைகள் அவர்களுடைய வாழ்க்கையில் காணப்பட்டு, தேவன் அவர்களுக்கு வைத்திருக்கிற சிறந்த காரியங்களை அவர்கள் பெற்று அனுபவிக்க முடியாதபடி அவைகளைக் களவாடுவதைக் கண்டு உள்ளம் வேதனைப்படுகிறது. வேதாகமம், இந்த இரண்டு சக்திகளைக் குறித்த சில உண்மைகளைக் கூறுவது மட்டுமல்ல, எவ்வாறு சாபத்திலிருந்து விடுதலையாகி ஆசிர்வாதத்தில் வாழ்வது என்பதைக் குறித்தும் போதிக்கிறது.
