Kaya't tinipon niya ang lahat ng mga punong pari at mga tagapagturo ng Kautusan at sila'y tinanong, “Saan ba isisilang ang Cristo?” Tumugon sila, “Sa Bethlehem po, sapagkat ganito po ang isinulat ng propeta: ‘At Ikaw, Bethlehem, sa lupain ng Juda, ay hindi pinakahamak sa mga pangunahing bayan ng Juda. Sapagkat sa iyo magmumula ang isang pinuno na mamamahala sa aking bayang Israel.’”
