John 1
1
1in the beginning was the word, and the word was with Hashem, and the word was nothing less than G-d. 2the this was in (the) beginning with Hashem. 3all is through him created become; and except through him is not created become any thing, which is created become. 4in him was life; and the life was the light of the men. 5and the light shines in the darkness; and the darkness has it not overcome.
6it was a man, of Hashem sent, his name was John. 7the this one is come for a witness, so that witness to say about the light, that all should believe through him. 8he is not was the light, but (is come) so that witness to say about the light. 9that was the true light, which illuminates every man, who comes in the world into. 10he was in the world, and the world is through him created become, and the world has him not known. 11to his own is he come, and the his have him not received. 12as many as however it have him yes received, has he them given power to be Hashem's children, to the (ones), who believe in his name: 13which are born become not of blood (lineage), not of the will of the flesh, also not from the will of a man, but (born) of Hashem. 14and the word is become (embodied) flesh (and blood) and has lived among us, and we have seen his glory, a glory like of a Son of only beside his Father, full with grace and truth. 15John has witness said about him, and called out, so to say: he is it, about whom I have said: the one, who comes after me, was before me, because he was ahead of me. 16and of his fullness have we all received, and (actually) grace after grace. 17because the Torah is given become through Moses, the grace and the truth are come through Yehoshua the Moshiach. 18no one has ever not seen Hashem; (but) the Son Only which is in the bosom of the Father, has (him) known made.
19and the these are John's witness to say, when the Judaeans of Jerusalem have sent to him kohenim and Levi'im, so that him to ask: who are you? 20and he did confess was, and not deny; and has admit was: I am not the Moshiach. 21and they have him asked: so who then? (question) you are Eliyahu? and he says: I am it not. (question) you are the prophet? and he has answered: no. 22have they therefore said: who then you are? so that we should give an answer to the (ones), who have us sent. what you say about yourself? 23has he said: I am a voice of one who cry out in the wilderness: make straight the way of the L-rd, just as Isaiah the prophet has said. (Yeshayah 40, 3.) 24and the messengers are were from the Pharisees. 25and they have him asked, and said to him: so why you are immersing in a mikveh, if you (SG) are not the Moshiach, also not Eliyahu, and not the prophet? 26has John them answered, so to say: I am immersing with water in a mikveh: in your midst stands (one), whom you (PL) know not, 27that (one), who comes after we, whom I am not worthy to untie the thong of his sandal. 28this is happened in Beit-Anyah, on the other side of Yarden, where John used immersing do in the mikveh.
29the next morning sees he Yehoshua come to him, and says: look, Hashem's lamb, who takes away the sin of the world! (Yeshayah 53, 7.) 30he is the (one), of whom I have said: after me comes a man, who was before me; because he was beforehand of me. 31and I have him not known; but so that he shall revealed to be to Israel, therefore am I come, immersing having been with water in the mikveh. 32and John did witness say, so to say: I did see the Spirit descend from heaven like a dove; and remain on him. 33and I did him not know; but the One, who had me sent immersing to do with water in a mikveh, did to me say: upon whom you (SG) you will see the Spirit down hovering, and remain on him, the this one is it, who is immersing in a mikveh with the Spirit the Holy. 34and I have seen, and have witness said, that he is the Son of the Most High.
35the next morning is John again standing, and two of his disciples; 36and seeing Yehoshua as he is going past, has he said: see, this (is) Hashem's lamb! 37and the two disciples his have him heard speak, and have followed Yehoshua. 38and turning around self and seeing them following after, has Yehoshua to them said: who desire you (PL)? did they say to him: Rebbe (that means, teacher) where do you dwell? 39says he to them: come and see. are they therefore come and have seen where he has lived; and are with him stay that day. it was around the tenth (4 P.M.) hour. 40one of the two, who have heard of John and have him followed, was Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter. 41the this one finds first his own brother Simon and says to him: we have found the Moshiach, (this means translated, anointed one). 42he has him brought to Yehoshua. Yehoshua has a glance done on him and said: you (SG) are Simon son of Jonah; you (SG) you shall be called Cephas, (translated to Yiddish, rock).
43the next morning did he want to go out to Galilee, and finds Philip; and Yehoshua says to him: follow we after. 44and the Philip was of Beit-Tzaidah, of the city of Andrew and Peter. 45Philip finds Natan'el and says to him: him, of whom Moses has written in the Torah, and the prophets, have we found, Yehoshua son of Joseph of Natseret. 46and Natan'el did to him say: of Natseret can then be something good? says Philip to him: come and see. 47Yehoshua did see Natan'el come to him, and says about him: here is a true Israelite, in whom it is not there any deceit. 48says Natan'el to him: from where you know me? did Yehoshua answer and said to him: before even Philip did you call, have I you seen, while you (SG) are still under the fig tree. 49has Natan'el him answered: Rebbe, you (SG) are the Son of the Most High; you (SG) are the king of Israel. 50did Yehoshua answer and said to him: because I did you (SG) say, that I did you see under the fig tree, do you believe? greater things than the these will you see. 51and says to him: in truth, in truth say I you (PL): you (PL) will see the heaven open, and the angels of Hashem going up and coming down on the Son of Man.
