Stewarding God's Kingdom 預覽
Sowing and Reaping
Paul discussed harvesting to encourage the Corinthians to be generous in their giving. If you sow lots of seeds, you will reap more than if you sow only a few seeds.
It’s easy to think this suggests an ulterior motive to giving—that we will benefit more in the end; however, God’s kingdom works differently!
He blesses those who give with abandon. In His economy, it is wise to give much to those who will pass on His generosity. Because the currency of His kingdom is not money, it’s people.
At the end of the day, it is the people who receive His blessings that end up with a deeper understanding of His goodness. This is true riches.
The reason He ordained us keepers of His kingdom is that we may know Him deeply.
This is why it is important to steward well.
Reflection
Are we generous with what we have, or do we hoard and keep it for ourselves?
God loves a cheerful and generous giver. Paul encourages us to embrace generous giving with our whole hearts.
One of the best ways to break the hold money can have on us is to determine to give generously, and to start doing it. As we see the benefits our giving has on others, we will be filled with joy and will desire to give even more. Give it a try!
Prayer
Father, thank you for all you have given me. I pray that you would find in me a willing heart, eager to give and help those with less than myself. Amen.
