The Angels Releasing God's Judgment
Thoughts on the Passage
These last two angels have the responsibility of the second harvest – that of judgment on those people who reject the Kingdom of God.
God releases these angels to gather people together and prepare them for judgment. This judgment mentioned in the passage is obviously a war of some sort located in the land of Israel – with the reference to the city of Jerusalem and a river (that seems to indicate the Jordan River flowing through Israel). To the Jewish believers that God is addressing in this portion of the letter, they see God keeping His promise to defend His city and the land He promised to them. They know about the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans – and they call to God to keep His promises. God is going to keep this promise as well.
The second passage describes again the role of the angels in separating out the wicked from the righteous in the final judgment that God has for mankind. The angels have God’s authority to both separate them, and release both the righteous and the wicked to the destiny that God has for each. God is allowing them both to exist together right now – and often it seems the wicked are overwhelming the righteous. However, God knows what He is doing and He will use His angels to get them right.
We can trust God to use His angels to get it right with our lives as well.
Prayer
Father, we see two examples of the wicked seeming to get away with their wickedness – but You know how to deal with it in the right time. In each case, You use angels to release Your justice on the wicked. It is Your timing. It is Your schedule. It is not ours. The Jewish people wanted justice much quicker – they wanted the promised blessings to their city and their land. We want justice much quicker today as well. The wicked seem to get so much stronger and the righteous oppressed so much more often. Still, there is a right time – and the angels will be part of making it happen. That is what You say here, and that is what we can expect. Lord, when we cry out for justice now – in our lives, our workplaces and our families – send Your angels to help see it happen. We know that it will have a final result later, but we cry out for interim help today for the many of Your children who face injustice. In Jesus Name', Amen.
關於此計劃
The world’s depiction of angels is nothing compared to what they REALLY are. In Plan 9 of Revelation, we see the amazing work that angels are tasked with by God and we come to understand that they are magnificent beings that have been assigned to help us. We see that even though we suffer now, we will be singing in the end. Why? Because God has given us victory – and it is a victory that is eternal.
