The New You預覽
Call On Jesus
If you want to get healthy, you can’t focus on just your physical body. You can’t focus on just your mind or emotions either. Every part of your being is intertwined with every other part. Complete health will remain elusive until you take a holistic approach and address your entire self—body, mind, emotions, and spirit—as a whole.
That said, your spiritual health is the foundation on which a life of wholeness is built. If you aren’t spiritually healthy, you will always struggle with your body, your mind, and your emotions. To get from where you are to where you want to be in any and every area of your well-being, you have to engage with God and take responsibility for your spiritual health.
- Allow God to change the way you think. “Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect” (Rom. 12:2).
- Choose to step away from old, unhealthy tendencies. “Since, then, we do not have the excuse of ignorance, everything—and I do mean everything—connected with that old way of life has to go. It’s rotten through and through. Get rid of it!” (Eph. 4:21–22 Message).
- Develop new habits that will help you take hold of the life you want. “Put on your new nature, created to be like God” (Eph. 4:24).
The key to melding these truths together is to acknowledge who Jesus is and begin building your life on the foundation of His truth. Any time you sidestep your responsibility in this area, you will fall back into old habits and patterns in every area, and you will distance yourself from God.
You can continue to live tired, overweight, and sick. You can continue to wrestle with mediocrity. Or you can decide to step away from the frustration of a divided life and experience
God’s power at the highest level possible in every area, every single day. “Come close to God, and God will come close to you” (James 4:8).
Who is Jesus? Is He someone who loves you and forgives you unconditionally, or is He someone whom you find it hard to trust? Don’t rely on your past experiences or what people tell you. If you don’t know the answer, decide to find out.
關於此計劃
This is a devotional about taking small yet deliberate steps toward the life you were meant to live. It is about unlearning what has taken you away from wholeness and relearning what is needed to return. We will take a hard and honest look at what keeps you from succeeding in the areas of physical, spiritual, emotional, and mental health. Then, we’ll reimagine the future and what it looks like when we invite God into its formation.
