Yesterday's Bread預覽
You Can’t Freeze It
My mom is the “freezer” queen. She freezes everything from soup to meats to loaves of fresh bread. I always joke with her, telling her I can tell when she thaws a loaf of bread and puts it on the dinner table because it doesn’t taste “fresh” like it was just made.
How many times have we tried to freeze the bread God gave us and found it didn’t taste the same as it once did? God gives us enough to keep us going. Just like the Israelites trying to hold on to the manna God gave, it was counter-productive to the plan God laid out for them because it was meant to sustain for the current day only and trying to hold on to it for the next day would just be a spoil.
Our hope in Jesus is for what is to come, not just what has passed. Our instinct to hang on to yesterday’s bread may be due to fear of what we may face today. Walking in faith can be intimidating but we can rest assure, God is with us with every step of the journey. We don’t have to know how He will provide; but just remember He will provide.
As we see in the scripture, the Israelites were focused on what God delivered and forgot Who delivered it. Remembering the source of our bread is the key to staying fresh, day by day.

When God blesses us it's so easy to hang on to what He did and how He did it. We tend to forget He wants to do more for us and possibly in a different way than in the past. In this 3-day devotional by Pastor Jeff Gwaltney, we will take a look at how God desires to keep the blessings fresh in our life.
