Perspectives Of Hope (Overcoming COVID-19)預覽
Have you ever heard the phrase “Your words are poison?" At first it may not make much sense, but when we think of what we commonly know about how poisons work, we can begin to decipher the phrase. As poison enters a healthy body, it brings with it destructive properties that eventually lead to death. “How can words do this?” you might ask. After all, most of us sang the chant “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me,” right? So, which one is it? Have you ever heard anyone say “Your words are a cure?” Honestly, I never have, but isn’t it possible? If a poison kills, then a cure heals.
Acts 14:2 mentions some disbelieving Jews, who stirred up the minds of the Gentiles and embittered them against the Christ followers. Poisonous words.
As we maneuver through all that life throws at us, do we wish to be used as a poison or a cure? We are all carriers of both, but which will we allow to flow through us?
Nobody travels through life without having some influence over others. What do you want the influence you carry to lead to—ruin or recovery? Which are you a carrier of —hurt or hope?
