That Moment
That moment when you realize that apart from Christ and His redemption you are condemned, broken, and hopeless. The God of the whole universe decided to send Himself as man on earth—tempted in every way you were—but remained sinless for your sake. All so that He can have an intimate relationship with you, and to use you as a vessel for His glory. The very foundation of who you are rests in the fact that you were bought with a price, and the Lord uncovered your eyes to see His eternal and faithful goodness.
Now, think of that moment through the lens of someone else. I can think of the 14 years I begged God to help my dad find repentance, and how amidst the lack of evidence that my prayers were working I remained at peace and patient for Christ to do His work. It was one of the highlights of my life to see my dad experience that moment, and in God’s timing.
When I forget that moment—and that moment for my dad—I find myself numbed by the repetitiveness of ministry. I ignore the other nudges God might give me to look for faces of those who might not have had that moment, no matter where we are. I lose sight of what drew me to ministry—seeing that moment happen for as many people as possible!
I pray today you spend time praising God for that moment, and He reignites an even deeper passion in you to be a conduit He uses to help many others experience that awesome moment too.
