Devotional On The Life Of Moses

7天中的第3天

"When God’s purposes are done in human ways, the consequences are always difficult."

As Moses grows into adulthood, he finds out that he actually is an Israelite. He did not like the way his own people were treated and fed. So Moses desired to free them his own way.

Now you must remember that Moses grew up in the house of Pharaoh. He knew his battle strategies. He was well learned in the ways of the Egyptians.

But now he begins to identify with the plight of his people, and upon witnessing an Egyptian beating a Hebrew slave, Moses intrudes and kills the Egyptian.

Then later in another instance, Moses attempts to mediate in a dispute between two Hebrews, but one of the Hebrews rebukes Moses and mockingly comments, “Are you going to kill me as you did the Egyptian?” (Exodus 2:14). Soon realizing that his criminal act was made known to everybody around, Moses flees to the land of Midian. Is there something God has told you to do? How you long for things to happen, but somehow it is taking so much time.

Do you feel that things are just dragging along and this is resulting in dissatisfaction and frustration in your spirit? Well, all of us have passed this way before.

So firstly, today begin to see God’s greater plan for your life. Begin to look at the big picture rather than just a small happening. Remember God has called you. In John 15:16, Jesus says…Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. Being fruitful is your entitlement. It has been given to you as an inheritance from Heaven.

Secondly, commit everything you desire to do or are already doing into God’s hands. Trust Him to show you which one of them you need to be doing and what you must put aside. Finally, there is one more thing that is important. Are there any ‘hidden’ things in your life that you have buried ages ago. Some things that you would not want to remember or even others to know? Well, today is the day to come clean before God. Not run away as Moses did. There was a day that Moses had to come back to Pharaoh and face him again. Therefore you must be strong. Go to your Pastor or someone you trust to pray some of these issues out of your life. If we look at the life of Moses, God’s dealing were still not finished with him. We all have a long way to go, but we must begin somewhere to take this tremendous journey with God that will last all our lives. Let us pray.
