Daily Bible Reading – May 2021 God’s Word of Spiritual Renewal預覽
May 27
Introduction
Paul is sent to Rome so that his case can be heard by the Emperor. Paul is put aboard a ship with other prisoners. The ship encounters a fierce storm at sea. Chapter 27 provides a description of how dangerous sea travel was in the first century.
Today’s Scripture Reading: Acts 27:1-38
Today’s Key Verse: Acts 27:24b
[An angel said to Paul:] “God in his goodness to you has spared the lives of all those who are sailing with you.”
Reflect
What did the Roman officer Julius allow Paul to do (verse 3)? Why do you think he did this? What warning did Paul give about the voyage (verse 10)? What was the reaction to this warning (verses 11, 12)? What was Paul’s message to everyone aboard ship (verses 21-26)? Do you think everyone was encouraged by his words? Why or why not?
Pray
Holy God, in your goodness and mercy you keep watch over us. Hold me close in the safety and shelter of your love and care. Amen.
Prayer Concern
