Fear/less Pt. 2: The Cross Transforms the Storm預覽
We don’t just wrestle against flesh and blood. There are forces in this world that try and prevent us from stepping into the fullness of God’s image, which is who we were created to be and is what it means to be fully human. God created us to reflect His image and flourish in it, and there could be nothing further from this image than the demon-possessed man described in Mark 5. It may be difficult to fully relate to this demon-possessed man, but we can relate to being less than what God created us to be and how we often wrestle with things that hold us back from living in the fullness of the image that the Creator desired for us.
In our stormy seasons, we may feel overcome with feelings of helplessness, fear, and desperation. The liberating message of the gospel is that Christ has won the victory for us, and those who place their faith in Him may win the victory too. In fact, all these forces become beaten forces and constitute no threat to those who are united by faith to the victorious Christ and avail themselves to His resources.
When the stormy seasons hit, we should take the practical steps but we also need to take on a battle and struggle that isn’t just in the flesh and blood. Things of the spirit matter and we need to be equipped for this spiritual battle through the Word, through prayer, through faith, through righteousness, and through salvation. There are victories that need to be won in the unseen world - victories to be won in the Spirit.
