Abiding in Christmas預覽
"Abiding in Christmas: Daily Advent Thoughts" by Bryan Craig
DAY EIGHTEEN
And Mary said to the angel, “How will this be, since I am a virgin?” And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy—the Son of God. And behold, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son, and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. For nothing will be impossible with God.” And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her. (Luke 1:34-38 ESV)
In The Journey discipleship groups we lead through Influencers Global Ministries, we guide people toward John 15 where Jesus says He wants to “abide” with us. This relationship of abiding with Christ suggests a most intimate bond between us and the Lord, one where the Holy Spirit overshadows our fleshly, sinful nature and empowers us to do great things for Him. When Jesus comes into the picture, impossible things seem possible. Hear these words again: “For nothing will be impossible with God.”
APPLICATION: I don’t know where you are this Christmas in relation to Jesus. Perhaps you’ve just been viewing Jesus from afar. He came into this world not only to save you but to have a relationship with you. Are you willing to let Him do the impossible in your life?
