Why do people become refugees? Because something is making them feel unsafe. They escape to find a better place to live. Did you realise Jesus was a refugee when his parents escaped with him to Egypt?

Sometimes I feel like running away when I am hurt or offended. Where can I run? I can run to the God who will never let me down. The truth of his words of love for me are a shield that protects me from the lies of the enemy. God’s word tells me he loved me so much he gave his Son for me. Now that thought makes me feel safe, loved and protected! How about you?

Lord, help me to find refuge in your perfect love. When I feel tired, beaten up or accused, remind me of how much you love me. Amen.
