Finding Faith in the Storm

You can say NO to the storm!

We had just started filming Ein Wunder für jeden Tag (A Miracle Every Day in German) at the German Christian TV channel Bibel TV when I received this message: "Your account has been hacked, and someone in the Netherlands has used it to order an expensive pair of shoes."

Honestly, I was surprised at myself because I didn't react with shock or great alarm. The situation did motivate me, though, because I quickly figured out what was actually happening! I was about to work on a project that would hopefully encourage many people to entrust their lives to Jesus in a deeper way. Logically, the enemy, who does his utmost to steal our joy and concentration (see John 10:10), was trying to stop me. Normally, before continuing, I would've made a phone call right away to find out what was going on! However, it made more sense to take a step back and consider what could actually be happening spiritually, behind the scenes.

At times like these, you can pray this prayer from the Psalms and briefly take a step back, out of the storm: "Show me Your ways, Lord, teach me Your paths. Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are God my Savior, and my hope is in You all day long." (Psalm 25:4-5, NIV)

By God's grace, I didn't allow the enemy to steal anything from me that day! Instead, I surrendered my account problem to God and focused my heart and mind on what I was there to do. As I did, God took care of everything! By the time I was able to look into the problem that evening after the TV shoot, it was mostly solved, and I hadn't lost any money. Thanks to God guiding me to see the situation through His eyes, another miracle happened, one that I've now been able to share with you today! :-)

Now it's your turn. I invite you today to take a step back, out of the storm, and pray about the situation weighing most heavily on your heart: "Show me Your ways, Lord…for You are God my Savior…" (Psalm 25:4-5, NIV).

God can use your step out of the storm to propel you forward in a powerful way!

You are a miracle!
