Day Three – Giving Forgiveness
My Daughter,
Yes, you are awesome, beautiful, godly, and my favorite daughter in the world! Hope all is going well in life.
Well, today is a great topic. Forgiveness… I know you have heard a lot about this word, but I want you to especially listen to what I have to say today. God in Christ has totally, 100% forgiven you of all your sins. I know you know this. Receiving forgiveness can be easy for most people, because they know that Christ has died for their sins and if they repent there is complete forgiveness in Him.
The more difficult aspect of forgiveness is giving forgiveness. Even the disciples asked Jesus for help on giving forgiveness (Matthew 18:21).
I know that you forgive people, and that is good. When we forgive, we unhook them from driving our car, so to speak. Unforgiveness takes you from reacting out of pain to responding out of love. When we forgive, we release them and what they did fully to God.
Ephesians 4:32 states, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as inChrist God forgave you.”
Our forgiveness muscle will be tested by people doing bizarre, hurtful, or hateful things to us or saying them about us. When betrayal comes, and it will flex your forgiveness muscle as quickly and as strongly as possible.
I’ve seen many leaders be tested in this area right before God promotes them to something. So, never let anyone take anything from you by not forgiving them. You are doing great so far, but this will come up again.I'll be there for you when and if you need me!
Love you much,
Dad
