Day 4 - Hold You Up

When God told my wife and me separately that we were to start with the release of the Isaiah songs, I don't mind telling you I was hesitant and a bit scared. Ok, maybe a lot scared. ;-)

Until then, I had been writing and recording these Bible verses in solitude. Just me, God, and the Bible. The start of every day, the end of every day. And I loved it. I treasured it. I've never felt closer to my Father than in those days. So I wasn't keen on going public with this.

What would people say? How would they react to these songs? It felt like I would share my most intimate moments with God and the world.

And the first few months were no picnic. I've gotten my share of hate mail. I won't go into detail, but to say they were discouraging is an understatement. Comments, mind you, made by my own family, Christians. And after all the hard work, the love I had put into it, that's tough.

And here's where these verses of Isaiah 41 kick in. "For I have chosen you. Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand".

Wow! This is God encouraging us. You. Me. He's holding you up for all the world to see! He's with you every step of the way. Not only that, He promises to give you strength, to hold you up. So when He is for us, who can ever be against us? (Romans 8:31)

Let that inspire us! And instead of finding fault with each other, let's encourage each other and let God do the talking for us ;)

9. For I have chosen you.

10. Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

12. Those who attack you
will come to nothing.

13. For I hold you by your right hand.
