A Time to Keep Silent and a Time to Speak預覽
Don’t keep quiet when you need God’s help
“Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you...” (Psalm 50:15, ESV)
God is omniscient, which means that He knows everything. He knows how you are doing and what you need. Yet He urges you to “call upon Him” when you need help. So, when you are in distress, don’t keep silent. Cry out to the Lord. Tell Him what’s wrong and how you are feeling.
The book of Psalms contains many examples of people calling upon the Lord God. In Psalm 4, for example, David says, “Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have given me relief when I was in distress. Be gracious to me and hear my prayer!”
God’s exhortation to turn to Him is accompanied by His promise of deliverance. David knew that from experience. He had been delivered from various kinds of dangers before. This helped him trust in the Lord despite his difficult circumstances and despite other people mocking his faith.
If you are in trouble, with whom do you share your problems? Do you also call out to God? Have you ever experienced His help?
