OUTCRY: For Church Leaders預覽
Remember Your Calling
Being a local church leader is not easy. From the dreaded comment card, to difficult leadership meetings, it’s easy to lose your passion. Like a freight train, Sundays keep barreling down on you, and most of the time you know you are doing well when you don’t get any complaints!
This may be a bit melodramatic, but it’s probably not that far off!
But there was a time—hopefully!—when you felt called into the position you are in. The beautiful moment someone accepted Jesus for the first time under your leadership. Or maybe the first time you led a Bible study or led worship. That moment where you knew this is what you were made to do.
But maybe all of the trials and drudgery that come with ministry have dulled your senses. Like a vibrant painting that has been whitewashed, the passion for your calling is beginning to fade.
Our first principle of OUTCRY leadership is to remember your calling. You weren't called to lead because of your brilliant leadership or preaching skills. You weren't called because of your vast Biblical knowledge or your oh-so-current fashion sense. You were called because God wanted you.
There were no leaders in the Bible that were perfect, ready and equipped when the calling of God came down. Not Noah. Not Moses, Abraham or David. Certainly not any of Jesus’ disciples!
God doesn't want leaders to lean on their own abilities, but on their calling.
Take a moment to ask God to remind you that you that you were called to the church where you lead --through all of the trials and difficulties that try to rob you of your passion for your calling.
Rest today, not in your ability but in your calling.
