Zoom Out

Let’s take a quick trip through the Bible. In the beginning, God spoke the universe into existence, forming a perfect world and placing Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. However, temptation led them to disobey God, introducing sin and its devastating consequences into the world. Despite their disobedience, God promised a future Redeemer who would crush the power of sin. Throughout the Old Testament, God revealed His redemptive plan through His chosen people, Israel. He made covenants with Noah, Abraham and Moses, setting the stage for the coming Messiah. Prophets foretold the birth of a Saviour who would bring salvation and reconcile humanity with God.

In the fullness of time, Jesus Christ, the promised Redeemer, was born. He lived a sinless life, performed miracles, and taught about God’s kingdom. His sacrificial death on the cross became the ultimate act of redemption, paying the price for humanity’s sins and offering forgiveness to all who believe in Him. Through His resurrection, Jesus conquered death, demonstrating His victory over sin and opening the way to eternal life. He commissioned His disciples to share the Good News of salvation with the world, leading to the formation of the early Christian church. The book of Revelation reveals the culmination of the redemption story. It depicts the return of Jesus Christ in glory, the final defeat of evil, and the establishment of a new heaven and earth. In this restored creation, God will dwell with His people, wiping away every tear and bringing everlasting joy and peace.

From Genesis to Revelation, we are reminded that through faith in Jesus Christ we can experience redemption and eternal life with God.

Real Hope: Redemption Story

“God loves us and will search for us when we are relationally lost from Him. When we return to God’s love, all heaven rejoices. We are found, forgiven and loved. That is redemption.” (The Redemption Story – Kath Henry). If you feel far from God, meditate on these devotions and let them open your heart to God’s saving grace and His heart for the lost.
