The Care Project預覽
Creating the Perfect J.O.B.
Thoughtfulness at our jobs can be tricky. Everyone has certain responsibilities, and each employee is challenged to “stay in their lane”. There may also be feelings of insecurity that creep in when you help another person at work. They may think you’re playing them for their job, trying to butter up the boss, or working some kind of an angle in the office. Or maybe we’ve just watched too many episodes of reality television.
A truly thoughtful person finds ways to make their bosses and co-workers feel at ease, and people see them as a valuable part of the team. Stepping in to help a co-worker with a project, with no strings attached, communicates that you care just as much about their success as you do your own. Going above and beyond at work shows your boss that you’re a valuable team player. Think about this: What if the most valuable player is the player that makes the most people feel valuable? (You can quote me on that!)
Thoughtfulness in the workplace doesn’t just have to be about the work. A good work environment is created when co-workers get along. Remembering birthdays and anniversaries, getting to know their families and their hobbies, and stopping to engage on a personal level can strengthen those relationships and make working together more fun and productive.
