Day 2: Experiencing His Presence

Embracing various trials in life can be challenging, but God promises He will be with us when we experience pain. There are so many emotions that accompany you as you open up to those you trust. You may experience anger, frustration, disappointment, or sadness. Despite the emotions we have, God’s Presence is more powerful and will help us overcome each challenge in His timing. When it feels that your faith might fail you, just know that you only need faith the size of a mustard seed.

Oftentimes, we want to try and manage pain on our own and we have the superwoman syndrome. I get it! That was me too. I wanted to be strong enough to oversee it while having a lack of trust to be vulnerable with anyone. I would like to encourage you today:

You can trust God.

Although a simple statement, it is powerful. Being in the Presence of God can change everything. Knowing that you have One who is dependable that will not judge your hurt and will consider the unforeseen challenges is so reassuring. This is not a burden that you must carry alone. In times where your faith is lacking and you feel weak, God is your strength. During hard, dark, and challenging times, it is going to take faith to know that God cares for you. He is concerned about all that concerns you.

Although at times I felt I was facing divorce alone, God reassured me that I was not alone. As I began to redirect my attention back to Him, He showed me what I was truly capable of. The qualities that had always been within me, and the strengths that I had not yet discovered, were being discovered due to my affliction. I had so much joy in rediscovering how strong in the Lord I really was.

There is such joy and peace in the Presence of God. It is like a calm in the midst of a storm. Just as Jesus slept on the boat during the rocking and beating of the waves from the storm, so you, too can do the same. Even when you only see one set of footprints in the sand, rest assured that He is still right by your side.

God waits for our cries and prayers. Crying out to Him in desperation and humility gives Him the opportunity to partner with you in your pain. Though He is aware of the various trials we face, He wants to hear from us.
