Heart Check

4天中的第3天

Sin and sickness are not the end of our story. All of us have been affected by sin and felt its consequences, but God lovingly chose to make us new again and restore us to who He made us to be. In the midst of the sickness of the heart, God promises anyone the gift of salvation and offers to heal our hearts. Ultimately, salvation is a matter of the heart, because it’s in our heart that we believe in Jesus and receive His grace that saves and transforms us.

Out of His great love for us, God came to earth as a human to live a perfect life and die as a perfect sacrifice on the cross. And just as Jesus died on the cross, all of our sin, guilt, and shame died with Him. On the third day, Jesus came back to life and now invites us to have a new life with Him and promises us a new and clean heart. Christ did all the work of salvation and now offers this free gift to us to be received by our faith in Him. In our hearts, we trust in God to save us through what Jesus did on the cross and He is faithful to give us a healed heart that will worship Him. Even when we mess up and sin again, God is still gracious and loving to remedy our hearts time after time.

Our salvation in Christ Jesus transforms every aspect of our lives. Every part of our being, especially our heart, now lives for God. Having received the love of God, the posture of our hearts should ultimately be submitted toward God. Submission looks like offering up all that you are to God and letting Him use you according to His will. In offering up everything, our finances should also be submitted before God. God desires for us to be generous with others, which is a result of His love within us. God’s transformational love in our hearts leads us to not only love Him but also love others with how we use our money.
