Kong Hee: The Bond Of Unity預覽
Are Your Desires God’s Desires?
Have you ever wanted something that wasn’t good for you? Children do this all the time when they ask for a cookie before dinner, or beg to stay up past their bedtime. These are not really bad things. You would not say that a cookie is bad, but in the wrong context, it is not good for you.
The Children of Israel wanted something that wasn’t good for them. Unlike the nations around them, Israel didn’t have an earthly king to govern them. Instead, Israel was governed directly by God. God worked through people that the Bible calls judges, like the prophet Samuel, but ultimately Israel’s king was God!
Sadly, the children of Israel were more concerned with what they wanted then what God wanted for them so they told Samuel to give them an earthly king. They wanted to replace the God of the universe with a man!
God said to Samuel in 1 Samuel 8:7, “Heed the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them.”
So Israel was given a king, and though a few of these kings were righteous and good leaders, most of them were wicked men who led Israel into disobedience. The question the Israelites should have asked themselves was, “Who knows what’s best for us?” The answer of course is God!
God made you, God loves you, and God knows what is best for you. Sadly, people think their desires are better than what God desires for them. What is really best for you is for your desires to become like God’s desires.
Prayer for the day:
Today, tell God that His desires are best, and ask Him to plant His desires in your heart.

關於此計劃
Part of God's plan is to place us within a family of believers known as the Body of Christ. While we may not always agree with one another, it is important to maintain the bond of peace through the Spirit of unity. Reflect on the attitudes of your heart when it comes to disagreements, and learn how to love sacrificially as Christ did!
