Monuments - A 7 Day Devotional By GATEWAY預覽
Have Your Way
by Mark Harris
A friend once told me, “Whatever you honor, you keep. Whatever you do not honor, you lose.” These words have challenged me in many ways as they apply to friendship, marriage, and, truthfully, all relationships. Included in this is our relationship with God.
John 15:7 says if we honor the presence of God, then we abide in Him and He in us. The counterpoint is if we do not honor the presence of God, then we lose fellowship with Him.
The passage goes on to say if we honor God's presence, we can ask anything according to His will, and it will be done. The fullness of everything we need comes from honoring the presence of God in our daily lives.
So how do we honor His presence? By daily offering ourselves as living sacrifices. Romans 12:1 says this is pleasing to God and "truly the way to worship him."
Whatever we give our time to will receive our honor. If our lives are too busy to take time for God, then are we honoring His presence? How we spend our time not only determines what we do but also what we become. If we want to become living sacrifices that honor God, we must take time to be with Him. Only then will He abide with us, and only in His presence will we find everything we need.
Are you taking time daily to honor God by listening to His voice, lingering in His presence, and living in His word?
關於此計劃
Whatever a monument means to each of us, we find throughout the bible that monuments were built to honor God and His goodness, mercy and favor. Some were simple piles of stone, some were towers and some were temples but all were intended to remind people of our faithful God and to have courage to follow in faith with only a glimpse of what’s to come. Today, there are still monuments all around us, we see them everyday… our families, opportunities, health, finances, and one another… we are the monuments of His faithfulness.
