Love God Greatly-Fear & Anxietyنموونە

SOAP: Jeremiah 29:11

Fear, anxiety, panic. These emotions cower like a cat clawed to the trunk of a pine tree, paralyzed from moving forward to the safety of the branch or climbing down to the ground below. In these moments of fear, we often feel stuck. Many times, our distress over what is to come blinds us from seeing any opportunity God has before us. 

This was the case for ancient Israel. They had suffered defeat and were removed from their land. Their future was unknown. But, through the words of Jeremiah, God promises the nation a future that is far better and beyond their current reality. It is one that includes a restored trust in Him.

In Jeremiah 29:11, we are called to trust in God’s foreknowledge and His goodness. He has already written the story of our lives. We must remember that He is the author and perfecter of our faith.

In what area of your life are you currently experiencing fear or anxiety over the future? Remember, Jesus died so that we could have life and live it abundantly. When we struggle with concern over our future, it helps to remember that we serve a loving God who wants the best for us. What attributes of God do you need to trust in today as you rely on Him for your future?

Father God, thank You for showing me in Your Word that you already know the plans You have for me. Help me build my trust for You each day by relying on who You are. Forgive me for the times I doubt your goodness and Your faithfulness. Thank you for loving me despite my fear. Continue to reveal to me Your purpose for my life in Your timing. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
