SOAP: Romans 12:21  

If you turn on the news for a few minutes, it becomes evident that there is evil in the world. We can be tempted to pretend it doesn’t exist or give up in defeat. These are not the responses that God wants to have to evil.

Romans 12:21 tells us not to be overcome by evil. We should not allow evil to overwhelm us and steal our joy. Instead, we should prevail over the power of evil by reflecting Christ through the way we live. Light penetrates through the darkest sky. Likewise, love covers a multitude of sin. 

How can you show kindness to your community this week? Do not allow the evil in the world to discourage you from sharing the love of Christ. God has placed you here to do good and give Him glory. We can overcome evil by staying the course and trusting in the Lord who gives us strength.

Father God, thank You for the truth that You are our Great Overcomer. I praise You for giving me the ability to overcome evil with good. Thank You for fighting my battles with me. Help me always to remember that You are with me. Help me to shine the light of Christ wherever I go. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
